OUR COUNTRYSIDE

As a small working farm that is seeking to establish itself, it may seem strange to be talking about our countryside, but that is one of our main attractions.
Farming and countryside management are synonymous, one shouldn't exist without the other. Aside from providing a break from urban lifestyle and all the trappings of modern civilisation, the countryside forms the backbone for where we live. Understanding it, working with it and enjoying what it can offer is all part of our ethos.
Townhead Farm offers a diverse insight into the countryside, providing easy access to areas of woodland, burns, flowers and wildlife. It also provides excellent examples of the methods employed by farmers to manage the countryside, such as dry stain dyking, coppicing, drainage, hedgerows and natural planting. The results encourage good habitat and consequentially develops and supports the range of animal life.
