Our Values
1. To adopt and operate the highest practical standards for Animal Welfare on a domestic farm, namely:
· Freedom from hunger and thirst
· Freedom from discomfort
· Freedom from pain, injury and disease
· Freedom to express normal behaviour
· Freedom from fear or distress
2. To understand and meet the requirements of all customers, such that:
· They get the product at the right time, right quality and right price
· The condition of the product and processes associated with its production can be reviewed by the customer at any stage within its lifecycle.
3. To work both within and with the local community for the optimum benefit of rural development, such as:
· Improved access to areas of natural country side and managed farm land
· Opportunity to partake in the growing and production of locally produced produce
· Education and learning for young people about the countryside and the food chain
· Development of traditional rural skills, e.g woodland management, dry stone walling, or hay making without modern machinery
4. To move towards a carbon neutral energy footprint, taking maximum advantage of locally produced power and a policy of:
· Reducing the amount waste and energy required to dispose of it
· Reusing the maximum amount of by-products such as manure for fertiliser or wood cutting for fuel
· Recycling all products that have intrinsic value either through material or as a product.
5. To operate to a policy of safety and harmony such that no process is considered or conducted without due consideration to its cause and effect on the individual or the environment, and to ensure that in all cases the maximum effort is taken to prevent harm.
